Strawberries from Seed – You Can Grow That!

Gardening Jones shares info about the 2016 All-America Selections seeds.

As a gardener I am very fortunate to have been accepted to be an All-America Selections seed trial garden.

Not only do I get to check out wonderful new seeds, it also gives me the chance to grow things I might not have otherwise.

Sweet on both counts.

Take strawberries for example. In all my years of gardening I have never grown them from seed. I've purchased crowns, and transplanted runners, but this year things are going to be different.

I already have seeds started in the kitchen under lights. According to directions, I can enjoy the berries from the plants in a small container this year, then transplant into the garden when they stop bearing fruit.

From there they will just continue to multiply as strawberries tend to do. Love it.
