Seeds for Veggies

Mandolin’s Picks

Each fall Mandolin will pick (something he’s very good at) his favorite fruit and veggies from the garden to offer the seeds for sale.

We are often given seeds as well, most of which we share in return. We’ll offer what we have extra of and use the proceeds to help support the blog.
Sorry we don’t have pics of everything, this wasn’t planned ahead of time. :-)

Cowpeas Risina Del Transiorfino
I’ve never actually grown these, but I accidentally ordered 2 packs from Baker Creek and just want to recoup my mistake.

Moon and Stars Watermelon
moon and stars watermelon
This heirloom melon is so cool to grow. The leaves as well as the melon gets small yellow spots, or ‘stars’ on them. Some melons get a large spot, or ‘moon’ as well.

Cayenne Peppers
Mandolin claims that the best ‘hot’ is made with a combination of peppers. I’m not quite as discerning, but I plant a variety for him.

Tabasco Peppers
tabasco peppers
These are mine at the yellow stage but they can be picked green or left to turn red. Makes a great hot sauce!

Black Krim Tomato
We grew these last year but didn’t take any pics, arrgh. I must say eating a tomato that’s a reddish brown was kind of weird in a fun way.

Pink Oxheart Tomato
A pretty and yummy heart shaped tomato.

Rio Grande Tomato
This one is a paste type tomato so it will do well for sauces, salsas etc.
